Margrít Co. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates margritco.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, join a product waitlist, or sign up for our emails, we collect what you enter. That typically includes your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and any notes you add to your order. If you buy a gift card, we also collect the recipient’s email address and the message you write.
Payment information. We do not collect or store your full credit card number. Payments are processed by PayPal and Square, and your card details go directly to them. We receive confirmation that a payment went through, along with the last four digits of the card and the billing name and address.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or ad that sent you to us. This comes from cookies and similar tracking technologies.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them for three purposes:
- Necessary cookies keep your shopping cart working, keep you logged in, and let you check out. The site does not function without these.
- Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics and tell us how people find and use the site so we can make it better.
- Advertising cookies come from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest. These let us show ads to people who have visited the site and help us understand whether those ads work.
You can turn off or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the site including checkout will stop working.
How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Process and ship your order and send order confirmations and shipping updates
- Deliver gift cards and waitlist notifications you have asked for
- Respond to your questions and provide customer service
- Send marketing emails if you have opted in
- Prevent fraud and protect the site
- Understand how the site is performing and improve it
Marketing emails
If you sign up for our newsletter or check the subscribe box at checkout, we will send you occasional emails about new products, collections, and promotions. Our email is managed through Mailchimp. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order and shipping confirmations, which we have to send.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need to do their job:
- PayPal and Square for payment processing
- Mailchimp for email marketing
- Google for website analytics
- Meta and Pinterest for advertising
- Shipping carriers to deliver your order
- Our website host and technical providers to keep the site running
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
How long we keep your information
We keep order records as long as we need them for business, tax, and legal purposes. Marketing contacts stay on our list until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask for a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Opt out of marketing emails
- Opt out of targeted advertising
To make any of these requests, email maggie@margritco.com. We will respond within the timeframe the law requires. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Children
Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use SSL encryption on our site, and payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant providers. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Links to other sites
Our site may link to other websites, including our social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Read their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
